types of computer bugs

Arithmetic bugsDivision by zeroArithmetic overflow or underflowLoss of arithmetic precision due to rounding or numerically unstable algorithmsLogic bugsInfinite loops and infinite recursionOff by one error, counting one too many or too few when loopingSyntax bugsUse of the wrong operator, such as performing assignment instead of equality test. For example, in some languages x=5 will set the value of x to 5 while x==5 will check whether x is currently 5 or some other number. In simple cases often warned by the compiler; in many languages, deliberately guarded against by language syntaxResource bugsNull pointer dereferenceUsing an uninitialized variableUsing an otherwise valid instruction on the wrong data type (see packed decimal/binary coded decimal)Access violationsResource leaks, where a finite system resource such as memory or file handles are exhausted by repeated allocation without release.Buffer overflow, in which a program tries to store data past the end of allocated stora…

Software Testing Types:

Black box testing – Internal system design is not considered in this type of testing. Tests are based on requirements and functionality.
White box testing – This testing is based on knowledge of the internal logic of an application’s code. Also known as Glass box Testing. Internal software and code working should be known for this type of testing. Tests are based on coverage of code statements, branches, paths, conditions.
Unit testing – Testing of individual software components or modules. Typically done by the programmer and not by testers, as it requires detailed knowledge of the internal program design and code. may require developing test driver modules or test harnesses.
Incremental integration testing – Bottom up approach for testing i.e continuous testing of an application as new functionality is added; Application functionality and modules should be independent enough to test separately. done by programmers or by testers.
Integration testing – Testing of integrated …
